Food culture is an important part of traditional Chinese culture since ancient times. In the past 40 years of reform and opening up, with Zhejiang’s continuous step to embrace the world, our foreign friends show increasing interest in Zhejiang food culture. With Zhejiang’s booming economy, it is necessary to know the foreign translation of Zhejiang menu so as to disseminate the Zhejiang food culture. We hereby selected twelve representative Zhejiang courses and translated into English and Spanish. Thanks to its geographical location, the province has a diverse range of produces including sea food, rice and vegetable, to name a few, Jinhua Ham, Hangzhou Dragon Well Green Tea and Shaoxing Rice Wine. Zhejiang Cuisine is characterized by its selecting criteria for fine, unique, fresh and tender ingredients, with emphasis on the original flavor, light fresh taste and exquisite shape. Attain harmony in dietary desires; share happiness among nations. We hope this news will help our foreign friends to better appreciate Zhejiang food and understand Zhejiang’s food culture. We hope, also, that the news can do its bit in promoting Zhejiang’s open economy.
